A team of young metallurgists from Zheleznogorsk took part in the final of the international Metal Cup championship

The final of the international championship among young metallurgists Metal Cup was held in the city of Wenzhou, people's Republic of China. The championship was held in the mode-line. Participants of the final were 11 best student teams from ten countries: Brazil, Cuba, Guinea, China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, Tajikistan, Egypt. Russia was represented by two teams from Saint Petersburg and Zheleznogorsk.

As a result of competitive tests, the team from Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University took first place in the final of the international championship.
The team from the Zheleznogorsk mining and metallurgical College took the ninth place.

Sopka Courses being prepared for the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Stages

Sopka Cluster in Krasnoyarsk is undergoing the final round of course preparation before the competitions of the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Stages that are to be held on 7 and 8 March.

Medals in two disciplines – Dual Moguls and Aerials – will be competed for by 130 strongest freestylers from 15 countries. And for the aerial skiers, the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Stages in Krasnoyarsk will close up the 2019/2020 season.

The World Junior Curling Championships 2020 comes to its end in Krasnoyarsk

The winners of the World Junior Curling Championships 2020 were determined on 22 February at Crystal Ice Arena in Krasnoyarsk. Canadian athletes won gold in both men's and women's competitions. Maia Ramsfjell from Norway and Anton Hood from New Zealand were recognized as the best players of the tournament.

The games finished up with the Closing Ceremony. Athletes, fans and honoured guests saw a spectacular performance directed by Ilia Averbukh, the silver medallist of the Olympic Games in figure skating, choreographer and an artistic director.

More than 100 athletes from 15 countries took part in the World Junior Curling Championships 2020 that was held from 15 to 22 February on the ice of the Crystal Ice Arena, Krasnoyarsk.

Ethnopark planned in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

A large-scale tourism project is planned to be implemented in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: an ethnopark with an area of 300 thousand square meters.

The project involves the development of tourist routes in the Arctic zone, the construction of a recreation center which will work all year round. Travelers will be able to get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the Arctic, visit a deer farm, a boat station, as well as try the dishes of the northern peoples.

Robotic festival in Krasnoyarsk

From February 13 to February 15, the All-Russian Robotics Championship will be held in Krasnoyarsk.

Presentations of projects and robot races will be held daily at the Siberia International Exhibition and Business Center. This year, the theme of the robotic season is urban development. The championship will be attended by 1,500 students from 70 cities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Estonia and Romania.

The grand opening will take place on February 13 at 18.00. Guests of the championship will enjoy an interactive performance, a drum show, a "performance" of Samoyeds, a drone dance under the Kalinka, and Robert Robot will be one of the co-hosts.

Admission to championship events is free.

Krasnoyarsk is preparing for the world Junior Curling Championship

World Junior Curling Championships will be held in Krasnoyarsk in Crystal Ice Arena from 15 to 22 February 2020.

Competitions of such level take place in Russia for the second time. Last time Junior Championships were held in Sochi in 2013 before the Olympic Games. The decision about the World Junior Curling Championships 2020 to be delivered in Krasnoyarsk was made after the Winter Universiade 2019.

20 teams from 15 countries, such as Russia, Canada, USA, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Scotland, Norway, Latvia, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Hungary, Japan will participate in the Championships. Russia National Team will try to defend their current status of champions at this home competitions.

"Stolby" officially received the status of a national park

On December 4, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on changing the status of the reserve Stolby - now it is the national park of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

"Stolby" is a Russian strict nature reserve located 10 km south of the city of Krasnoyarsk, on the northwestern spurs of the Eastern Sayan Mountains.
The park was founded in 1925 by citizens the picturesque Syenite Buttes and surrounding rocky landscape. The area of nature reserve is 47,219 hectares. Stolby has been nominated to be on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
